Converting files into PDF

Some of your assessment submissions might require you to submit a PDF file for marking. In such case, you will need to convert the file that you have into PDF format.

Here are some common instructions for some of those types.

Converting word files into PDF - Windows:

This method applies if you are using latest version of Office/Microsoft 365 products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. If you wish to install a fresh copy of Microsoft 365, please find the instructions in this link.

Step 1: Make necessary changes to your file.

Step 2: Click on File button.

Step 3: Click on Export.

Step 4: Click on Create PDF/XPS document.

Step 5: Give your file a name and select PDF from the save as type menu.

Step 6: Click Publish. And you file has been converted to PDF.

Converting PowerPoints into PDF:

This method applies if you are using latest version of Office/Microsoft 365 products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. If you wish to install a fresh copy of Microsoft 365, please find the instructions in this link.

Step 1: Prepare your PowerPoint. Make sure all the slides are ready.

Step 2: Click on File button.

Step 3: Click on Export.

Step 4: Click on Create PDF/XPS document.

Step 5: Give your file a name and select PDF from the save as type menu.

Step 6: Click Publish. And you file has been converted to PDF.

Converting Word files into PDF - MacBook

Please make sure that your word application is up-to-date with the latest version. This method only works with the latest version of Microsoft Word and other suite of applications.

Step 1: Make the necessary changes to your file.

Step 2: Click on File and then Save as.

Step 3: Change the file name or choose the folder where you would like to save the file.

Step 4: Change the file format to PDF.

Step 5: Click on Export.
